![]() ![]() Fossil Find is an oddball card without too much use, but it’s fun and worth mentioning for it’s unique rules text. The Peregrine Drake combo package is a seamless fit, as I’d be playing all the supporting cards even if Peregrine Drake weren’t legal. Normally I’d let people know ahead of time if GY order is going to matter. Nowadays only legacy and vintage are the big offenders for this rule, but EDH can do that if you’re running cards that care. ![]() It's not cheap ( 5 mana is a lot for the format) and does not have impressive stats, but it does provide a new enabler for the Familiar Combo deck after Cloud of Faerieswas banned not too long ago. Graveyard order has only been referenced on cards from Stronghold and earlier, and in a later version of the MTR (Magic Tournament Rules) it was added that graveyard order didn’t matter as long as you were in a format using cards only from Urza’s Saga and forward. Peregrine Drake Seemingly disguised as limited fodder, here comes the best card in the set for Pauper. Back in 2008 you weren’t allowed to change the order of your graveyard, and this let you do so and grab something randomly more easily. Agent of Treachery + Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake (5 decks) Kroxa. The reason for reordering the graveyard is a little odd, but it made sense with Fossil Find was printed. This combo abuses Azusas ability to let you play an additional two lands. Fossil Find is a card that you wont see printed nowadays, mostly due to probably red not having access to this sort of recursion, regardless if it’s random or not. Guaranteeing landfall each turn is the best way to use this card, and with the right support, you’ll be up to your eyeballs in landfall triggers.įor only one mana, you get the chance to bring anything back in your graveyard back to your hand, the smaller your graveyard the better. The reason this card got expensive? Nowadays you can chalk it up to buyouts and the reserved list, but the first card spike was thanks to Zendikar block and the printing of landfall cards. secondary wincon: God-Eternal Rhonas / End-Raze Forerunners + Yarok, the Desecrated + other creatures beatdown with huge creatures. This encourages land drop manipulation in order to negate this small drawback, with cards like Exploration, Oracle of Mul Daya or even Burgeoning to keep your land drops up to par, or even just ramping spells go accelerate. Peregrine Drake + Yarok, the Desecrated + any bouncing creature + spells with x in their mana costs GG. Sure it give you mana each time, but having it be returned at the start of your next turn leaves you down a land, stuck at whatever land total you’re at if that’s the only land you’re using for your land drop. This visions land was a bit of an oddball for the longest time, relegated to the bargain bin of card shops. Topi’s Daily Card #690: Undiscovered Paradise ![]()
